I've finally gotten four of us to take SPM Literature. :D its so exciting I can't wait!!! :D :D
Wenn Jin gave us such a pep talk today. AND reminded us about the sketch we need to do on Teacher's Day. I've got an idea from my mom since I don't think Akif's idea is THAT inspiring. I'm not being a biatch but the whole "bad student becomes good because of teacher" ideas he came up with is PRETTY basic. NO OFFENCE. Gosh, I'm sound so horrible. FINE, I take it back. His idea was good but it was very common. I think we CAN work with the same storyline but add more colour.
The story my EXTREMELY smart mother came up with is:
A group of a school's alumni meet up after twenty years. They walk through their old school and take in the difference. They then stumble upon their old classroom and reminisce about their old class life. Suddenly one remembers their old teacher who played a trick on them.
(flashback to 20 years ago)
A 'younger' version of the alumni are seated in class talking randomly as a substitute teacher seats in front. One of the boys complains that he is tired of studying and hopes to make a career in selling pirated VCDs which is a completely 'money-making' business. Another hopes to be continue in his father's footsteps and become a 'bomoh'. One girl told her friends that she will be dropping out soon and snag a good, rich husband.
The teacher overhears them and smiles. He then tells them that there are easier ways to getting rich. His students look curiously at him. He then walks up to their table and picks up their Additional Maths text book and tells them, there's a secret formula in these textbooks that will help them get rich. When questioned whether he has found it himself, he says he's still looking. He then leaves the class. The students look at each other and stare at their books. One by one, they start opening it and reading through the pages.
The next day one student bumps into the teacher and says he hasn't found this 'miracle formula'. The teacher frowns and then asks the student "what book did i say it was in?". The student says "my add. maths book". The teacher then slaps his forehead before telling him he made a mistake and it was ACTUALLY the Physics text book. The student then walks off looking for his Physics text book.
The teacher tells them the same story but with different books everytime until the day of their exams. The students however never seemed to catch on and kept reading the books again and again. And from being the lowest of their class, these students became the best of their batch and graduated the top of their class.
(back 20 years)
The students then realise that they were cheated into studying and it did them well. The same students achieved the best dreams that they could find. The VCD seller wannabe became a director. The pretty girl who was going to snag a rich guy became the CEO of a make up company. The bomoh's son became a world renowned surgeon. They then realise that they're doing much better as they followed their teacher's advice.
soo... alls well that ends well.
